soft, slightly sticky, mega sweet & gooey deluxe
Did you know that slime has been around since 1976?
Originally manufactured by Mattel, sold in a plastic trash can, it consisted of a non-toxic viscous squishy and oozy green or other colour material made primarily from guar gum (which is extracted from guar beans that has thickening and stabilising properties).
This edible gummy bear slime recipe takes slime to another dimension: soft, slightly sticky, mega sweet, gooey deluxe,
and oh so much fun to make!
Here goes:
What you’ll need to make edible slime:
– 1 cup gummy bears (we used Haribo – the best!) – for one colour slime, sort the bears on colour before melting.
– 2 Tbsp cornstarch
– 2 Tbsp powdered sugar
– Dash of coconut oil for extra stretch effect 😉
Microwave the gummy bears for 10 – 15 seconds;
Stir the gooey stuff and microwave for another 10 – 15 seconds;
Add the sugar and cornstarch, bit by bit but equal amounts;
remove from the bowl and start kneading the edible slime, add more sugar or cornstarch as needed, to prevent it from sticking!
Be prepared to work the edible slime mixture for a bit, try to not get too frustrated too quickly, give it some time and have fun! -x-
